  • GPS Location: Latitude, longitude, altitude if available

  • Upload a custom thumbnail to replace the existing one
  • Save a new version of your image with the custom thumbnail embedded

Privacy Analysis

Get an instant privacy assessment of your image's metadata. This tool identifies:

  • High Risk: GPS location data that reveals where the photo was taken
  • Medium Risk: Device information, timestamps, and editing software details
  • Low Risk: Technical camera settings that don't reveal personal information

Metadata Stripper

Remove all or selected metadata from your images:

  1. Toggle "Preserve Color Profile" if you want to keep color information (recommended for photos)
  2. Click "Strip EXIF Data" to remove all metadata
  3. Review the estimated file size savings
  4. Click "Download Stripped Image" to save your cleaned image

Tip: Stripping metadata is recommended before sharing photos online to protect your privacy.

Troubleshooting

No EXIF Data Found

Some images may not contain EXIF data. This is common for:

  • Screenshots and screen captures
  • Images downloaded from social media (which often strip metadata)
  • Images that have been previously processed or edited
  • PNG files (which have limited metadata support)

Map Not Loading

If the GPS map doesn't appear:

  • Check that your image contains GPS coordinates in the EXIF data
  • Ensure you have an active internet connection
  • Try clicking "Open in Maps" to view the location in Google Maps directly

Large File Processing

Very large images (over 20MB) may take longer to process. For best performance:

  • Use images under 20MB when possible
  • Close other browser tabs to free up memory
  • Wait for the processing to complete before interacting with the page

Privacy & Security

EXIFdata.com is designed with your privacy as the top priority:

  • No Server Uploads: All image processing happens entirely in your web browser using JavaScript
  • No Data Collection: We don't store, log, or transmit your images or their metadata
